One (ok, maybe two) shot(s) every day. My first year of dailies has been amazing, albeit with some twists and turns. I started on a random day in March. I finished off at Dec. 31 just to make life easier. In this year shot my first wedding, my first set of senior portaits, dozens of bike races, several new buildings. I upgraded to full-frame with the D700, got laid off only to find another job within a week. And last but not least, baby Ashley came along in late november. The majority of the shots from November therefore are daily baby photos.
I did my best to shoot something interesting, and to share the how’s and why’s. Photoshop and Lightroom are awesome and my main tools for post processing.
Thanks for looking; thanks for all the comments.
2009 03-29 A trip up to the Skagit today. I had seen some folks with some amazing shorth eared owl pictures, and wanted some for myself. The owls were out when we got there around 9, and left by about 11. I got a few decent shots, but one series that was pretty amazing. The owl in the bottom right had been hunting to the south of us (backlit), and finally got up the nerve to fly over the dike to hunt the field to the north (hooray for sunlight). Almost immediately he dropped onto food and was busy chowing down when along came the northern harrier. The harrier descended upon the owl; and the owl decided it was time to leave. Please check out the rest of the days' pictures here:
